About the Role
We are seeking a talented Gaming Software Engineer for a temporary, project-based engagement. This role is ideal for developers with a strong background in casual and mobile gaming who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy building engaging, high-quality game experiences from concept to production.
As a contingent team member, you will collaborate with full-time engineers, contributing to rapid prototyping, validation, and production of new game concepts. This is a temporary position and not a full-time employment opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- New Game Development:
- Build mobile and casual games from concept to playable prototypes, following established design guidelines and technical standards.
- Rapid Prototyping:
- Quickly iterate on game concepts to validate engagement hypotheses before scaling development efforts.
- Game Polish & Production:
- Refine validated prototypes into production-ready experiences for launch and integration.
- Social Mechanics Implementation:
- Develop and integrate features such as leaderboards, challenges, and sharing systems to drive engagement and retention.
- Collaboration & Integration:
- Partner with cross-functional teams for validation, feedback, and smooth handoff for integration.
- Code Quality & Documentation:
- Maintain high standards of clean, efficient, and well-documented code throughout the project lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience developing mobile or casual games.
- Hands-on expertise with game development frameworks and rapid prototyping tools.
- Strong understanding of game design patterns, including:
- Daily engagement loops
- Progression systems
- Social/viral mechanics
- Ability to work independently and manage deliverables effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience launching successful mobile games.
- Familiarity with live game operations and player engagement strategies.
- Ability to balance speed with quality in iterative development environments.
