Engineer - SCM

Role Summary

This role supports end?to?end supply chain activities at the project site, ensuring timely availability of materials, efficient logistics coordination, and strict adherence to organizational procedures. The position contributes directly to operational continuity for construction projects within L&T Power Transmission & Distribution, Oman.

Key Responsibilities

Manage procurement support activities, including gathering material requirements, preparing purchase requisitions, and tracking order status with approved vendors. Coordinate with logistics teams for timely delivery, customs clearance, and site-level distribution of materials. Maintain accurate documentation for stock levels, delivery schedules, and consumption records. Support supplier performance monitoring and escalate delays or discrepancies. Collaborate with site teams to forecast needs and plan material availability. Ensure compliance with internal controls, safety guidelines, and supply chain standards. Assist in resolving material shortages, quality concerns, or invoice mismatches by liaising with cross?functional teams.

Key Interactions (Internal & External) with Purpose

Internal: Project Engineers, Construction Teams, Stores, Finance, and HSE teams to ensure timely procurement, material planning, and documentation accuracy.

External: Suppliers, transporters, logistics agents, and customs authorities for order follow?ups, shipment coordination, and issue resolution.

Knowledge & Experience

Minimum Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Languages: Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Experience: 2–5 years in supply chain operations, procurement coordination, logistics, or warehouse management within construction or infrastructure projects.

Technical & Behavioral Skills

Strong knowledge of procurement processes, material planning, and basic contract terms. Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office. Understanding of logistics, inventory control, and quality protocols. Effective communication, teamwork, problem?solving, and time?management skills. High attention to detail and commitment to compliance and safety standards.
