Role Description
We are seeking a Game Developer for a full-time, remote B2B Contractor role at Top Sigma Studios.
In this role, you will be a key contributor to our development team, focusing on building gameplay mechanics, optimizing performance, and delivering a polished player experience. You will collaborate closely with our art and design teams to ensure the vision of the game is fully realized while maintaining high technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement core gameplay systems and mechanics for a political simulation game.
- Collaborate with the art and design teams to integrate assets and create seamless interactions.
- Optimize game performance for multiple platforms, with a focus on PC and mobile.
- Develop and maintain systems for managing game data, such as save files and configurable settings.
- Implement and refine UI/UX elements in collaboration with the design team.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Debug, test, and resolve issues to enhance game stability and quality.
- Contribute to feature planning and technical reviews, providing innovative solutions to development challenges.
Qualifications
- Game Engine Expertise: Proficiency in Unity (mandatory).
- Programming Skills: Strong knowledge of C# (mandatory); experience with other programming languages is a plus.
- UI Development: Experience creating and optimizing UI/UX elements in Unity.
- Data Management: Familiarity with JSON or similar formats for configuration and save game data.
- Experience optimizing games for both PC and mobile platforms.
- Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, especially in remote settings.
- Independence: Ability to manage tasks and deliverables autonomously.
- Experience Level: At least 3 years in professional game development or equivalent project experience.
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with strategy or simulation games, particularly systems-driven gameplay.
- Knowledge of voter sentiment, policy systems, or other mechanics relevant to political simulation games.
- Familiarity with modding systems or community-driven content workflows.
- Experience optimizing and designing for mobile interfaces and user experience
