Quick Note About Compensation

This role works on a revenue-share basis rather than a monthly salary.

We’re a new, small studio developing our first three PC games for the Steam platform, and we prefer a simple, transparent model:

  • You contribute to the project →
  • Once the game launches →
  • You receive your agreed share of the revenue

It’s not a co-founder offer, not a large equity stake — just a straightforward, honest collaboration for people who enjoy building games with a small, dedicated team.

If that sounds reasonable, keep reading.

About Us

We are TINK TEAM LTD, a UK-based technology company and a newly formed independent game development studio.

Our team currently consists of programmers and artists, and we are building three PC games simultaneously, focusing on:

  • High-quality 3D gameplay
  • Cinematic feel
  • Modern Unity workflows

We are now looking for a Technical Sound Designer to take ownership of our game audio and bring our worlds to life.

Role Overview

This is a hybrid role combining sound design + Unity implementation.

We are not looking for someone who only delivers audio files.

We need someone who can:

  • Create or source high-quality SFX
  • Modify and combine assets creatively
  • Implement everything directly inside Unity

You will be fully responsible for the audio pipeline, from asset selection to in-game behavior.

Key ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities

  • Design, source, and refine SFX (gameplay, UI, ambience, interactions)
  • Implement audio using Unity (Audio Source, Audio Mixer, Snapshots, 3D audio)
  • Build dynamic audio systems (e.g., surface-based footsteps, distance-based effects)
  • Mix and balance in-game audio for clarity and impact
  • Optimize audio performance for PC builds
  • Collaborate closely with programmers and artists

Important Note on Audio Approach

We follow a pragmatic indie workflow:

  • Majority of audio will be sourced from existing libraries
  • Your role is to:
  • Select the right assets
  • Modify / layer / polish them
  • Make them feel unique and responsive in-game

Required Qualifications

  • Strong portfolio / showreel (game audio preferred)
  • Experience implementing audio directly in Unity
  • Proficiency in at least one DAW (Reaper, Ableton, Pro Tools, etc.)
  • Good understanding of:
  • Game audio pipelines
  • Mixing & layering
  • 3D spatial audio
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership

Nice to Have

  • Experience with FMOD Studio or Audiokinetic Wwise
  • Basic C# knowledge
  • Experience with asset libraries and sound processing workflows
  • Previously worked on shipped games

What You’ll Own

  • Full audio direction of the project
  • Gameplay “feel” through sound
  • Final in-game sound experience

How to Apply

If you enjoy the indie spirit and want to see your work come to life on Steam, we want to hear from you.

Please reach out via WhatsApp and include:

  • Your portfolio / showreel
  • Any Unity implementation examples (very important)
