About the Role

A leading automotive client is seeking a skilled Level 2 Network Support Engineer to join its IT infrastructure team in Ghent. You will play a key role in maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the company’s network environment, ensuring high availability and performance across manufacturing and corporate systems.

This role is ideal for someone with solid hands-on experience in Cisco networking, routing, and switching, who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues and working in a fast-paced, production-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line support for network-related incidents and service requests
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments
• Monitor network performance and ensure optimal uptime and reliability
• Support and maintain Cisco-based infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls)
• Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 3 teams to escalate and resolve complex issues
• Perform network configuration, upgrades, and patching
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and problem management
• Contribute to network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
• Support ongoing infrastructure and digital transformation projects

Technical Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco technologies
• Solid understanding of:
• Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
• Switching technologies (VLANs, STP, trunking)
• TCP/IP networking fundamentals
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• You are fluent in English. Dutch is a bonus.
