We are currently looking for a Lead / Expert Java Developer to join a banking client within the Financial Crime Prevention domain, driving technical excellence and building scalable, high-performance systems.
This role combines hands-on development, architecture, and team leadership in a modern cloud-native environment.
Location: Helsinki (Hybrid Working- 3 days onsite/2 days remote per week)
start date: 17.4.2026
End date: 30.6.2026
Language Requirement: Fluent in English and Finnish (written and spoken)
Key Responsibilities
• Act as a Lead Developer, driving engineering standards and best practices
• Design and build scalable, high-concurrency distributed systems
• Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, and Analysts
• Translate architecture into robust technical solutions
• Mentor developers and guide technical decisions and tooling
• Contribute to Fraud / Financial Crime Prevention solutions
Key Requirements
• 7+ years of experience in Java development
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, and SQL
• Experience building microservices and event-driven architectures
• Strong knowledge of DDD, Event Sourcing, and Clean Code principles
• Experience with AWS and DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
• Strong leadership and stakeholder communication skills
• Fluent in English and Finnish
Nice to Have
• Experience with TDD, JUnit, and software security
• Experience with HBase, Hadoop, Angular, or JavaScript
• Experience using AI tools / LLMs in development workflows
