IT Project Manager – Document Management Systems (Contract)

We are working with a leading utilities organisation seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of enterprise Document Management System (DMS) initiatives.

This role is focused on technology delivery — driving the implementation, integration, and optimisation of document management platforms across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of Document Management / ECM system implementations
• Manage full project lifecycle from requirements gathering through to deployment and adoption
• Work with IT, architecture, and business teams to define solution design and rollout approach
• Deliver implementations of platforms such as Alfresco, Microsoft SharePoint, or similar enterprise DMS solutions
• Oversee system integration with platforms such as IBM Maximo, ERP systems, and other internal applications
• Manage vendors, system integrators, and third-party technology partners
• Drive data migration, document classification, and system configuration activities
• Ensure strong governance across scope, timeline, risks, and dependencies (RAID)
• Support user adoption, UAT, and transition into BAU

Key Requirements

• 5–10+ years’ experience as an IT Project Manager delivering enterprise systems
• Proven experience implementing Document Management / ECM platforms
• Strong understanding of system integration, data migration, and enterprise architecture environments
• Experience working with platforms such as Alfresco, Microsoft SharePoint, IBM Maximo or similar
• Solid vendor and stakeholder management experience across IT and business teams
• Experience working in complex, multi-system environments
• Strong delivery focus with excellent communication and reporting skills

Nice to Have

• Experience in utilities or regulated environments
• Exposure to cloud-based document management solutions
• Familiarity with data governance or records management frameworks
