About the Role

We are looking for a Data Platform / DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on experience managing Matillion end to end and solid AWS infrastructure expertise. This role goes beyond traditional data engineering and focuses on owning, operating, and scaling the data integration platform, ensuring reliability, performance, and security in production environments.

You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Matillion, as well as managing the underlying cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). This is a key role within the data team, requiring a strong DevOps mindset and direct ownership of the data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and operate Matillion ETL in a production environment
• Own the end-to-end Matillion platform lifecycle, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and availability
• Design, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure supporting the data platform (EC2, VPC, IAM, networking, security)
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance of the data integration platform
• Monitor platform health, implement logging and alerting, and resolve production incidents
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Analytics teams to support data pipelines and integrations
• Contribute to DevOps best practices, automation, and continuous improvement of the data platform
• Document infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience administering Matillion ETL end to end (installation, configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting)
• Strong DevOps or Platform Engineering background
• Hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure, including:
• EC2
• VPC & networking
• IAM & security
• Security groups and access control
• Solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience operating production platforms and supporting mission-critical systems
• Familiarity with data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift) from a platform perspective
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with Snowflake platform administration
• CI/CD experience for infrastructure or data platforms
• Experience with other data integration tools (Fivetran, Airbyte, dbt Cloud)
• Background in SRE or Cloud Engineering
• Experience supporting analytics or data engineering teams
