Empathy Talent are working with one of our partners to bring on board a Software engineer leading global retail client, embarking on an exciting journey to simplify digital complexity and revolutionize their retail concept and systems. We are seeking a passionate and driven Software Engineer to join their dynamic team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of learning solutions.

The Role:

As a Software Engineer within the "My Learning" digital product area, you will work closely with our client's concept and brand teams, gaining a deep understanding of how learning solutions empower their organization. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, scalable, and integrated learning technologies.


This is a longer term contract opportunity starting ASAP. We are open to hiring both permanent and contract for this role.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead engineering and solution architecture within the Learning Technologies and Data domain, ensuring alignment across relevant teams.
  • Drive modularization, scalability, and seamless integration, while upholding principles of resiliency, performance, and reusability, in line with business and architectural goals.
  • Champion engineering best practices throughout the product area.
  • Actively explore and contribute to the development of new technologies, optimizing existing tools and systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to current engineering practices.
  • Advocate for core engineering principles, including DevOps Automation, API Design, Decoupling, and Reusability, supporting digital product leadership.


About You:


We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer with:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software architecture.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with cloud providers, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality code adhering to best practices.
  • Proficiency in Node.js, Python, Databricks, Sparql, and API development.
  • Experience with Git-based development workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring.
  • Experience with Knowledge and Learning solutions is highly desirable.
