Back End Developer

O Gold is a fintech platform enabling users to buy, sell, and store precious metals digitally, while offering seamless payment experiences through wallets and prepaid cards. Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer to help design and scale the core financial infrastructure that powers our wallets, prepaid cards, transaction processing, and asset custody systems. This role involves building systems where security, compliance, reliability, and financial accuracy are critical. You will contribute to architectural decisions, own complex features end-to-end, and help ensure our platform meets the demands of regulated financial environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services for wallets, payment processing, and transactions
• Architect and implement secure APIs for high-value financial transactions
• Ensure integrity, accuracy, and auditability of financial data and balances
• Implement systems supporting KYC/AML workflows, compliance controls, and audit trails
• Improve reliability, fault tolerance, and idempotent transaction handling
• Integrate with banking partners, card issuers, payment processors, and custody providers
• Optimize performance for high-throughput and low-latency financial operations
• Establish robust logging, monitoring, and alerting financial events
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and infrastructure teams to deliver regulated features
• Participate in code reviews and promote secure, high-quality engineering practices
• Contribute to backend architecture and long-term platform scalability

Requirements

• Proven 3 years of experience building backend systems in fintech, payments, or high-security environments
• Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript
• Extensive experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs for transactional systems
• Solid understanding of transaction management, idempotency, and data consistency
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, ACID principles, and financial data modeling
• Experience with Redis for caching, queues, and rate limiting
• Deep understanding of secure coding practices, encryption, and API authentication.
• Experience integrating with third-party financial APIs (payments, banking, card networks)
• Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, etc)
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (KYC, AML ).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially regarding financial accuracy
• Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor or guide peers
