Graduate Software Engineer | £45,000 - £50,000

We're working with a fast-growing cloud-native infrastructure scale-up on this exciting opportunity.

Jump into a hands-on graduate role where you'll build, automate and operate highly available systems using modern tooling like Python, Docker, Kubernetes and Ansible. You’ll learn core site reliability and DevOps practices—monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana, streaming with Kafka, and deploying on Ubuntu-based infrastructure—while being mentored by experienced engineers.

The Role

Automate and improve DevOps workflows using Python, Ansible and CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub Actions or similar)
Monitor systems and respond to incidents with Prometheus, Grafana and structured alerting
Troubleshoot Linux/UNIX infrastructure, container issues (Docker, LXC/LXD) and Kubernetes clusters
Support secure, scalable deployments and collaborate on rollout strategies for high-availability services (Kubernetes, container orchestration)
Perform root cause analysis on outages, document fixes and strengthen reliability across the stack

What You'll Need

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar (strong academic record; Russell Group graduates encouraged)
Practical experience coding in Python or another object-oriented language and writing automation scripts
Solid Linux/UNIX fundamentals and hands-on familiarity with Docker and container tooling (LXC/LXD knowledge a plus)
Exposure or strong interest in Kubernetes, Ansible, CI/CD concepts, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
Curious, proactive problem-solver who can work independently and pair with developers and SREs
