Senior Backend Developer – Payments

Work Location: Singapore

Role Overview

Join our team to design and scale mission-critical payment systems that power millions of transactions across international card networks, real-time QR payments, and high-volume switching platforms. Your work will support both retail POS and e-commerce environments, where every millisecond impacts revenue, reliability, and trust.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build high-performance backend systems supporting Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and UPI payment integrations at scale.
• Architect secure, scalable solutions across authorization, clearing, settlement, and merchant onboarding workflows end-to-end.
• Lead modernization initiatives, migrating legacy payment platforms to Linux RHEL or cloud-based architecture environments.
• Optimize switching systems for ultra-high transaction volumes, ensuring low latency, resilience, and consistent system uptime.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and business teams to deliver reliable, production-grade payment capabilities globally.
  
  

What You Bring

• 8+ years of backend development experience with deep exposure to payment systems, switching platforms, and transaction processing environments.
• Proven expertise in C++, Linux environments, and scripting (e.g., Korn Shell) within high-availability production systems.
• Hands-on experience with Base24, international card scheme integrations, and modern QR payment ecosystems.
• Solid understanding of databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), messaging systems (IBM MQ), and distributed system performance tuning.
• Familiarity with POS/EDC, ATM systems, and payment infrastructure across both physical and digital transaction channels.
