Main Purpose

The Engineer Minor Projects should have good knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience in piping, rotating equipment, and static equipment. The role requires an understanding of project construction and site constraints, the ability to handle multiple small projects simultaneously, and good knowledge of safety, PTW systems, and regulatory compliance.


Job Accountabilities:

  1. Field execution of assigned minor projects within approved scope, cost, and schedule.
  2. Ensure mechanical design compliance with applicable codes, standards, and statutory requirements.
  3. Supervise site construction activities, including equipment erection, piping, welding, testing, and installation.
  4. Prepare and control project schedules, cost estimates, and resource planning.
  5. Interface with operations, maintenance, S&OR, and other stakeholders throughout the minor project lifecycle.
  6. Ensure HSE requirements, PTW systems, and site safety practices are followed.
  7. Coordinate mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning support.
  8. Ensure timely preparation and handover of as-built drawings and project documentation.
  9. Prepare project close-out reports, including lessons learned and performance review.
  10. Assist in basic/detail engineering, pre-commissioning, and commissioning for upcoming projects.
  11. Prepare technical reports and cost-benefit analysis for ongoing projects.
  12. Use risk assessment tools such as HIRA, What-If, and HAZOP.
  13. Have working experience in Technical Services with good interpretation of technical data.


Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including piping, rotating, and static equipment.
  • Expertise in project planning, scheduling, and cost control for small to medium projects.
  • Knowledge of national and international standards, regulations, and their applicability.
  • Ability to manage contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams effectively.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in upstream (E&P), oil & gas projects, design/engineering consultancy.
