The Role:

The Software Engineer for Career Mode works on the most played offline mode. As part of this team, you will help develop the tech, tools, and frameworks that form the foundation of the Career and Tournament modes, along with working on new features every year.

You will report to the Development Director and work with your Technical Lead to estimate, build, and improve projects. Together with a talented team of +20 engineers you will work on the technology, tools and pipelines that form the foundation of our game features, C++ based backend functionality, UI framework and components, content and localization pipelines, content creation tools and more. You will also develop the game features that are common across teams, including features such as player customization, team management, settings and accessibility


Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of new features or new additions to existing features within Career Manager, Career Player and all types of Tournament modes
  • Troubleshoot and fix any issues that may arise
  • Own your task entirely. This often means you will be in charge of implementing the BE logic, game flows and UI screen plus any UI custom components that are required.
  • You will report your progress to the Career Mode’s lead and team manager.
  • You will be part of a dynamic team focused on bringing high-quality features, tools and frameworks that form the foundation of the Career and Tournament modes along with developing new features every year.

Qualifications:

  • Object-oriented programming experience of OO design principles
  • 2+ years’ experience in C++ software development
  • Ability to quickly understand high-complexity existing and unfamiliar code and modify it.
  • Ability to adapt to existing multiple coding styles
  • Ability to embrace challenges and find creative ways to overpass them
  • Experience in C# and open-minded to learn new tech.


Nice to have:

  • Experience in UI technologies (Qt, Unity or Unreal UI frameworks).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Lua), C# and SQL.
  • Experience working within an agile team.
  • Experience with log analysis and tools such as Splunk.
  • Experience with Visual Studio and deep knowledge of debugging tools.
  • Experience working with Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo game consoles.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
