About the Role-
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager or Product Designer to play a key role in uplifting the merchant experience across our banking platforms. This role sits within a chapter‑based model and will work closely with cross‑functional squads to deliver high‑impact, customer‑centric digital products for merchants.
The successful candidate will combine strong product leadership, a deep understanding of customer and merchant needs, and the ability to collaborate across technology, design, data, and business teams in a large, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Experience Ownership
- Own and shape the end‑to‑end merchant journey, ensuring seamless, intuitive, and value‑driven experiences.
- Translate merchant and business needs into product strategy, roadmaps, and experience outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement of merchant products and services using customer insights, analytics, and feedback.
Chapter & Squad Collaboration
- Operate within a chapter model, contributing to capability uplift, best practices, and consistency across product teams.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, analysts, and business stakeholders within agile squads.
- Support and influence other Product Managers / Designers through coaching, mentoring, and shared learnings (experience‑dependent).
Delivery & Execution
- Lead discovery and delivery activities, including problem definition, solution design, prioritisation, and value measurement.
- Work with technology teams to ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned to platform standards.
- Balance short‑term delivery with long‑term strategic outcomes.
Stakeholder & Governance
- Engage with senior stakeholders across banking, payments, and merchant domains.
- Navigate governance, risk, and compliance requirements typical of financial services.
- Clearly communicate product vision, progress, and outcomes to business and technology audiences.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, Product Designer, or Experience Designer in digital environments.
- Strong background in end‑to‑end product lifecycle management or experience design, from discovery through delivery.
- Experience working in agile / squad‑based delivery models (Scrum, SAFe, or similar).
Domain & Customer Focus
- Experience in banking, financial services, payments, or merchant services is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of customer experience (CX) and human‑centred design principles.
- Ability to use qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decisions.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to influence without authority in complex, matrixed organisations.
- Experience contributing to or leading communities of practice or chapters is an advantage.
Nice to Have
- Experience with merchant acquiring, payments, cards, or digital banking platforms
- Exposure to design systems, service design, or UX research
- Background working in large enterprise or regulated environments
- Experience using product and design tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Figma, FigJam, Miro)
