TMT & Regulatory Associate (3–6 Years PQE)

The Opportunity

Our client is a premier, internationally recognised business law firm in Bucharest, distinguished by its market-leading focus on the technology and digital innovation sectors. Consistently ranked as Tier 1 for TMT by Legal 500 and highly regarded in FinTech Legal by Chambers & Partners, the firm is a founding member of a prominent CEE legal alliance.

They are currently seeking an entrepreneurial and technically skilled lawyer with 3–6 years of experience to join their award-winning Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Sector-Specific Advisory: Provide high-level legal and regulatory advice across Technology, Media, Telecoms, and Life Sciences/Medical sectors.
• Cutting-Edge Innovation: Advise on complex matters involving blockchain technology, crypto-assets, and digital banking.
• Fintech & Regulatory: Guide clients through EU and local regulatory compliance, including frameworks such as DORA, MiCA, and PSD2.
• Commercial & Privacy: Draft and negotiate complex IT contracts, software development agreements, and advise on data privacy/GDPR compliance.
• Client Management: Act as a primary point of contact for global tech giants, venture capital firms, and high-growth startups.

Requirements

• Experience: 3–6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a reputable law firm or a sophisticated in-house tech environment.
• Specialisation: Proven track record in at least two of the following: TMT, Fintech, Blockchain, or Financial Regulatory law.
• Qualifications: Fully qualified lawyer in Romania with an impeccable academic record.
• Skills: Exceptional command of English; strong commercial acumen; and a proactive, "problem-solver" mindset.
