Head of Software Engineering

Job Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Engineering Leadership & Architectural Vision

● Orchestrate Technical Strategy: Define and champion the long-term technical roadmap for the Mobility Backend and Customer Interface departments, ensuring scalability, security, and resilience.

● Web & Full-Stack Excellence: Drive the strategy for our web ecosystem, overseeing modern, scalable frontend architectures built on React.js and robust, typed service layers using Nest.js.

● Mobile Ecosystem Excellence: Lead the strategy for native mobile development, overseeing high-performance applications built on Kotlin (Android) and Swift (iOS).

● Data Architecture & Management: Oversee a robust data strategy utilizing PostgreSQL for relational integrity and Redis for high-performance caching.

● Data Insights & Analytics: Drive the integration of BigQuery for large-scale data warehousing, enabling the business to derive actionable insights.

● Technical Mentorship: Lead and develop a high-performing team of Engineering Heads, conducting deep-dives into code quality and system design across Java, EKS, Kafka, and Microservices.

2. Delivery Excellence & Observability Culture

● Tactical Execution: Direct the operational "engine room" of the division. You own the mission-critical milestones, ensuring sprints and releases are executed with surgical precision.

● Drive Full-Stack Observability: Establish and enforce a comprehensive Observability Stack (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog) to ensure system visibility across backend, web, and mobile.

● Digital Experience Monitoring: Champion the use of Fullstory to bridge the gap

between technical performance and user experience.

● Agile Transformation: Drive the Scrum-of-Scrums cadence, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Communication

● Executive Presentation & Storytelling: Develop and deliver high-impact presentations to the Board, C-suite, and Management committees. You must be able to translate complex technical roadmaps and "tech debt" into clear business value and ROI.

● Strategic Partner Influence: Act as the technical face of the organization when engaging with external partners, integration vendors, and industry stakeholders. Use persuasive presentation skills to align interests and secure high-value collaborations.

● Global Delivery Models: Manage Offshore Development Center (ODC) partners with a focus on rigorous resource planning and performance KPIs.

● Business Translation: Maintain strong communication channels with key business stakeholders (CSO, Marketing, B2B, etc.), translating business needs into technical deliverables.

4. Strategic PMO & Financial Governance

● Executive Oversight: Provide leadership to the PMO function, ensuring tactical delivery aligns with long-term financial cycles and budget constraints.

●Governance Bridge: Ensure a seamless handoff between the Delivery Management team (focused on "the build") and the PMO (focused on "the audit/reporting") to maintain 100% compliance.

5. Any ad hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

● Preferably minimum 12 years and above of experience in software engineering, with at least more than 5 years in a senior leadership role (Director or Head of level).

● Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills through data-driven presentation.

● Proven track record in building and scaling distributed systems using Java, Kubernetes (EKS), and Kafka.

●Deep understanding of React.js/Nest.js for web and Kotlin/Swift for mobile, alongside data stacks like PostgreSQL, Redis, and BigQuery.

● Experience with Fullstory and modern monitoring frameworks to drive product quality.

● Mastery of the Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence) and Agile/Scrum methodologies will be a plus
