ComfortDelGro is a global transportation company that embraces technology to enhance our mobility solutions. We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineering Manager (Android Development Lead) to join our team and spearhead the development of our innovative ride-hailing platform.

We are seeking an Senior Software Engineer/ Technical Lead / Technical Manager (Android Development Lead) with a passion for building high-performance, scalable mobile applications. This role requires strong leadership abilities to mentor and guide a team of developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality code and innovative solutions. Experience with Google ODRD (On-Demand Rides and Deliveries) and Contentful is preferred.

Job Scope:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance, scalable Android applications.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews to ensure best practices in coding, architecture, and design.
• Integrate Google ODRD APIs to enhance ride-hailing features and support various ride and delivery scenarios.
• Implement Contentful as a content management solution to enhance content delivery and user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers, UI/UX designers, and product managers, to define and implement innovative solutions.
• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability at the team level by establishing and enforcing best practices.
• Continuously explore and integrate AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, and maintain code organization and automation.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Min 7 -8 years of experience in Android development using Kotlin and Java, with at least 2 years in a leadership or lead developer role
• Proven experience integrating Google ODRD APIs or similar mobility APIs.
• Proficiency with Contentful for content management and delivery
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to backend services
• Experience with Google Play Console and publishing Android apps
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, IntelliJ AI Tools, etc.) to enhance productivity and code quality
• Experience working with microservices-based architectures and integrating with backend systems
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes, particularly using tools like Tekton, ArgoCD, or Jenkins
• Experience with performance tuning, memory management, and designing responsive UIs
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence
• Experience managing a team of developers and providing mentorship and technical guidance
