Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a global developer of technology platforms that develop temperature control products.

You'll design, build, and operationalize the cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, observability model, and security foundations for an AI-enabled cold-chain monitoring and decision-support platform. This role is critical because the platform will sit at the intersection of IoT telemetry, operational workflows, predictive analytics, and near-real-time exception handling. The infrastructure must therefore be reliable, secure, traceable, and designed to support both rapid iteration and production discipline. It is not a narrow infrastructure support role. The right candidate must be able to help define the platform's operational architecture from the ground up. That includes infrastructure-as-code, environment strategy, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and alerting, secrets and access control, containerization, cloud networking, and deployment patterns across AWS services. This individual must be able to work as a senior partner to engineering leadership while also remaining hands-on in implementation.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, or site reliability engineering.
Bachelor's degree in any computer-related field, such as computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, etc.
Strong experience with AWS in production environments.
In-depth understanding of infrastructure-as-code, preferably with Terraform.
Understanding designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of containerized environments and orchestration models such as ECS and/or EKS.
Expertise in monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational observability.
Solid experience with IAM, Secrets Manager, networking, VPC design, and secure environment configuration.
Expertise in supporting production applications with high reliability, operational sensitivity, or compliance-aware expectations.
Experience partnering closely with software engineering teams in modern cloud-native environments.
Strong understanding of release management, deployment automation, rollback strategy, and production support processes.

Nice to have

Familiarity with event-driven architectures and serverless workloads.
Experience supporting Python-based backend platforms and API services.
Familiarity with IoT, logistics, telemetry, or data-intensive platforms.
Knowledge of database operations for PostgreSQL in AWS-hosted environments
Familiarity with auditability, data lineage, and traceability requirements in operational systems.
Experience in regulated or mission-critical environments where uptime, observability, and controlled change management matter.

Responsibilities

Design and implement AWS infrastructure for application services, data services, event-driven processing, and operational monitoring.
Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or equivalent AWS-native tooling.
Establish secure and scalable environment patterns across development, testing, and production.
Design and support CI/CD pipelines for backend services, APIs, dashboards, and data-processing components.
Define operational standards for logging, monitoring, alerting, observability, deployment quality, and incident response readiness.
Support architecture decisions related to ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, PostgreSQL, S3, IAM, VPC, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
Partner with backend and full-stack engineers to ensure applications are deployable, observable, secure, and scalable.
Implement access control, secret management, network segmentation, and cloud security best practices.
Support production readiness for telemetry-heavy and event-driven workloads.
Contribute to auditability, traceability, and reliability expectations appropriate for high-value operational systems.
Help create deployment and support processes that can scale as the platform and engineering team mature.
