Technical Project Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Project Manager with a strong track record in delivering technically complex systems within regulated environments. This role requires a confident professional who combines solid technical expertise with outstanding stakeholder management skills and executive presence.

You will lead high-impact projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence standards. The ideal candidate thrives in structured, safety-critical environments and is comfortable operating at both technical and executive levels.

Key Responsibilities as a Project Manager

• End-to-End Project Management
• Lead complex technical projects from concept to implementation, ensuring scope, timelines, quality, and budget objectives are met.
• Delivery of Complex Systems
• Manage the deployment and integration of technically sophisticated systems, preferably within aviation or other safety-regulated environments.
• Stakeholder & Executive Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, including senior leadership and Executive Committees. Provide clear reporting, strategic insights, and high-level presentations.
• Public Procurement & Tendering
• Lead or support public procurement processes, including drafting tender documentation, defining technical specifications, setting acceptance criteria, and evaluating bids.
• Vendor & Contract Management
• Oversee supplier performance, negotiate deliverables, ensure contractual compliance, and manage risks related to third-party vendors.
• Budget & Financial Oversight
• Develop and control project budgets, monitor financial performance, manage forecasting, and ensure cost efficiency.
• Technical Oversight
• Ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions in areas such as Voice over IP (VoIP), Radio systems, and Data Communication (DataComm).
• Risk & Compliance Management
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring projects comply with regulatory, safety, and governance standards.

Requirements

• Experience
• 5–10+ years of relevant project management experience.
• Proven experience managing technically complex systems (preferably aviation systems or equivalent in safety-critical environments).
• Technical Knowledge
• Hands-on understanding of one or more of the following domains:
• Voice Over IP (VoIP)
• Radio communication systems
• Data Communication (DataComm)
• Soft Skills & Leadership
• Strong stakeholder and team management capabilities.
• Executive presence with the ability to present confidently to ExCo or Board-level audiences.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Procurement Expertise
• Experience in public procurement processes.
• Proven ability to draft tender documents and define clear acceptance criteria.
• Vendor & Financial Management
• Strong vendor and contract management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and control project budgets effectively.
• Certifications
• At least a basic project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent).
• Languages
• Fluent in English and at least one of the following: Dutch or French.
