In this role, you will contribute to the evolution of advanced Software Composition Analysis (SCA) capabilities within a global DevSecOps platform used by millions of developers. You will focus on building and enhancing security-critical backend features that help organizations better understand and mitigate risks in their software supply chain. Working in a highly distributed, async-first engineering environment, you will collaborate with product, security, and engineering stakeholders across multiple time zones. Your work will directly impact dependency scanning and container scanning systems, improving accuracy, coverage, and scalability at enterprise level. You will also help define architectural patterns and technical standards that shape the future of large-scale security analysis. This is a high-impact role combining deep backend engineering expertise with real-world security challenges.

Accountabilities

• Design, implement, and enhance complex backend features for dependency scanning and container scanning systems within Software Composition Analysis
• Improve scan accuracy, coverage, and performance while ensuring scalability across large-scale distributed systems
• Contribute to the “Gather, Integrate, Optimize” goals by enabling better data insights, workflow integration, and large-scale data correlation
• Develop reusable engineering patterns that improve delivery speed, maintainability, and system reliability
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making with engineering managers and senior engineers
• Identify, prioritize, and resolve technical debt to improve system health and long-term engineering velocity
• Collaborate across security, product, and adjacent engineering teams to align SCA capabilities with broader platform initiatives
• Translate product requirements and customer security needs into robust backend technical solutions
• Contribute to code reviews, design reviews, and technical mentorship to elevate engineering quality across the team
  
  

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in Software Composition Analysis, particularly dependency scanning and container scanning systems
• Proven backend engineering expertise, ideally with Go and/or Ruby on Rails in large-scale production environments
• Deep understanding of software supply chain security concepts and vulnerability management
• Experience designing scalable, high-performance backend systems with strong maintainability principles
• Ability to evaluate complex technical trade-offs in distributed systems and security-focused architectures
• Strong experience working in async-first, distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones
• Proven ability to translate security and product requirements into robust technical implementations
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical leadership discussions is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical and security topics clearly
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
