Platform: PC / Steam
Engine: Unity
Availability: Full-time or Part-time (Remote)
Quick Note About Compensation
This role works on a revenue-share basis rather than a monthly salary. We’re a new, small studio developing our first PC games for the Steam platform, and we prefer a simple, transparent model:
- You contribute to the project →
- Once the game launches →
- You receive your agreed share of the revenue.
It’s not a co-founder offer, and not a large equity stake — just a straightforward, honest collaboration for QA professionals who enjoy building and polishing games with a small, dedicated team. If that sounds reasonable, keep reading.
About Us
We are TINK TEAM LTD, a United Kingdom-based technology company and independent game development studio.
We are currently developing Mobile Ready PC game projects in parallel, focusing on high-quality 3D gameplay and modern Unity workflows. To support this structure, we are hiring PC Game QA Testers, each responsible for ensuring the stability and polish of our projects.
Role Overview
Each PC Game QA Tester will take ownership of the testing processes, bug reporting, and overall quality assurance of one game project. You will collaborate closely with developers and artists to identify issues early, ensure high performance on Steam, and maintain a polished player experience.
This role is open to Full-time or Part-time remote collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Ownership: Execute functional, regression, and performance testing for your assigned project.
- Bug Reporting: Identify, document, and track bugs using clear, reproducible steps in a professional bug-tracking system.
- Performance Testing: Monitor frame rates, memory usage, and loading times within the Unity environment and on various PC hardware configurations.
- Steam Integration: Test Steam-specific features such as achievements, cloud saves, and controller support.
- Gameplay Balance: Provide feedback on gameplay mechanics, difficulty curves, and user experience (UX).
- Build Verification: Validate new builds and updates to ensure no regressions are introduced.
- Compatibility: Test the game across different resolutions, aspect ratios, and hardware specs.
- Collaboration: Work directly with Unity developers to troubleshoot and verify fixes in real-time.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience in Game QA (PC platform preferred).
- Experience with Unity Engine (understanding of how to navigate scenes and use the Console/Inspector for debugging).
- Strong understanding of PC hardware and Steam features.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to find "edge case" bugs.
- Experience using bug-tracking tools (Jira, Trello, or similar).
- Fluent in documenting technical issues clearly and concisely.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Unity’s URP/HDRP and how they impact performance.
- Experience with automated testing or basic scripting (C#).
- Familiarity with Steamworks back-end.
- Experience working in indie or small, agile teams.
- A passion for polishing games to a "gold" standard.
How to Apply
If you enjoy indie game development and want to ensure the quality of a new PC title, we’d love to hear from you.
