Chief Technology Officer

Role Purpose

To lead Omantel’s technology execution and evolution, ensuring the Core Business is powered by resilient networks, scalable digital platforms, and secure technology operations, while applying strong business judgment to technology decisions that enable growth, efficiency, and long-term competitiveness.

Position Information

Unit: Technology
Line Manager: Chief Commercial and Operating Officer (CCOO)
Minimum role requirements:
Bachelor in relevant discipline
15 years of relevant experience with at least 7 years in a management position

Key Accountabilities

Own end-to-end technology delivery and operations across network, IT, digital platforms, and infrastructure for the Core Business
Ensure technology capabilities are reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient
Operate technology as a business-critical execution engine, not a standalone function
Ensure network, IT infrastructure, and digital platforms are future-ready and capacity-aligned with commercial and customer demand
Translate business priorities into executable technology roadmaps and delivery plans
Balance modernization with operational stability and service continuity
Own technology service availability, resilience, incident management, and recovery
Ensure operational performance meets agreed service levels and business expectations
Drive continuous improvement in reliability, automation, and operational efficiency
Define and enforce enterprise technology architecture, standards, and design principles
Ensure consistency, interoperability, and sustainability across platforms and networks
Govern technical risk, obsolescence, and long-term technology health
Apply business acumen and growth mindset to technology investment and prioritization
Enable new revenue opportunities, digital propositions, and customer experience improvements through technology
Partner with the CCO to translate market opportunities into viable, scalable technology solutions
Shape technology delivery plans in alignment with commercial ambition and growth priorities
Resolve feasibility, sequencing, and capacity considerations through the CCOO
Support Core Business transformation through disciplined technology change execution
Ensure technology readiness for major launches, migrations, and growth initiatives
Collaborate with Program Delivery to manage dependencies, risks, and deployment impacts
Lead and develop senior technology leadership and critical technical talent
Govern strategic vendors, partners, and sourcing arrangements
Build a technology culture centered on accountability, execution excellence, and continuous learning
Focus on Core Business technology execution and stability
Interface with O Tech on technology transfer, reuse, and scale-readiness
Support transition of mature technologies from O Tech into Core Business when approved
Operate as a peer execution leader to the CCO under the CCOO
Align technology priorities, sequencing, and delivery commitments through the CCOO
Support integrated Core Business performance and results delivery
