About the role:
Our client is a large Commonwealth department central to the Australian Government’s economic agenda, delivering programs across industry, science and resources. The CIO Division provides enterprise ICT capability and is seeking experienced .NET developers to support a portfolio of Azure-based web applications across the division.
Responsibilities:
You will develop and maintain Azure-based web API and portal applications supporting legislative reporting and regulatory processes. You will work within agile, cross-functional teams alongside architects, BAs and testers, applying secure coding practices aligned with the ISM. This is a hands-on development role, not an advisory or oversight position.
- Develop and maintain Azure-based web API and portal applications using .NET Framework/.NET Core and ASP.NET
- Integrate system components and third-party systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- Apply secure coding practices and conduct peer reviews of code and infrastructure
- Create and review technical and release documentation
- Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Essential criteria – please do not apply unless you meet all of the following:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience implementing secure web-based business solutions using .NET Framework (including .NET Core), ASP.NET, and Azure API Manager
- Demonstrated experience with Azure cloud platforms including Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Service Bus, Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with the Information Security Manual (ISM) and its application to solution design and build
- Experience with unit/integration/automation testing frameworks (xUnit, nUnit, Selenium, Playwright.Net)
- Experience working in agile multidisciplinary teams delivering secure, user-friendly solutions
- Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels
- You must be able to obtain Baseline
Desirable:
- Experience developing using Agile and DevOps delivery models
- Experience with Angular or React for web application development
- Front-end/integration testing experience with Selenium, Playwright.Net or Jest
- Tertiary qualifications in software design/development and experience with SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Blob storage and high-volume data processing
