Head of Engineering

I'm partnered with a client in the risk and compliance sector, recently acquired. With significant backing and ambitious growth plans, they are now entering a critical scale-up phase.

To support this journey, we are seeking a Head of Engineering to join the leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s technology strategy and ensuring scalable, resilient solutions.

As Head of Engineering, you will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for building and leading a high-performing engineering function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the technology strategy in alignment with the company’s growth objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and scale the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
• Ensure that systems, platforms, and architecture are robust, secure, and able to scale with customer demand.
• Partner with Product, Operations, and Compliance teams to deliver solutions that meet complex regulatory requirements.
• Drive technical due diligence, architecture design, and scalability initiatives.
• Represent engineering at the leadership level, contributing to overall company strategy and decision-making.

Requirements:

• Proven leadership experience as a Head of Engineering, Director of Engineering, or equivalent in a high-growth SaaS, fintech, or compliance-driven environment.
• Strong background in building and scaling technology platforms.
• Hands-on knowledge of modern development practices, cloud architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP), and security best practices.
• Experience growing and structuring engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align technology with business priorities.
• Based in or able to commute regularly to the The Hague / Rotterdam area.
