DevOps Engineer

Role: Software platform Engineer

Type: Contract

Job Description:

• Operate and continuously improve shared platform capabilities, including CI/CD, GitOps workflows, artifact repositories, secrets management, and software supply chain security.
• Streamline and automate developer workflows to reduce friction and improve delivery speed, reliability, and quality.
• Implement secure-by-default practices such as policy-as-code, role-based access control (RBAC), multi-tenant environments, and robust secrets handling.
• Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs, enhance observability, and support incident response and continuous improvement efforts.
• Build and maintain reusable modules, templates, and “golden paths” to enable teams to follow best practices with ease.
• Collaborate on defining engineering metrics, fostering a metrics-driven culture, and ensuring data systems are secure, reliable, and compliant.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to measure and improve key performance indicators (e.g., lead time, failure rates, MTTR), and translate insights into actionable improvements.

Experience & Skills

• Experience in software engineering and/or platform engineering, including working with production systems.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (experience with multiple providers is a plus).
• Strong experience with containers and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with serverless/container-based platforms.
• Practical experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience with CI/CD and GitOps practices using modern tooling.
• Experience with secrets management solutions.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Go, TypeScript, or JavaScript).
• Experience with observability and reliability practices, including metrics, logging, tracing, and incident response.
• Solid understanding of engineering productivity and developer experience frameworks, including:
• Applying metrics such as lead time, deployment frequency, and reliability indicators.
• Collecting and using developer feedback and telemetry to drive improvements.
• Building dashboards and using insights to influence real engineering changes.
• Familiarity with secure software delivery practices, including dependency management and artifact handling.
