New Product Development Manager- FMCG

My Client is a leading FMCG organisation that prides itself on integrity and due to a re-structure , are now looking for a NPD Manager to join the Team. My Client although operating in a tough category sets itself apart due to their culture and a massive selling point is Noel- the Operations Director who has been with the business for over 15 years. ( Noel has a reputable name within the business and will be a great guy to work with and learn from and he said ) “ I am looking for someone who is strategic, yes experienced but can bring new thinking and lead by example as you/ the NPD Manager will be managing a team. Candidates must have FMCG experience and have experience of product launches and be able to get buy in from stakeholders in various functions.” This will be an exciting time to join the business and to reflect the Seniority of the position salary is from 80,000- 95,000 plus package. ( this will be an on - site role with some flex for hybrid working)

Key responsibilities :

· Lead and develop the NPD strategy in line with overall business objectives.

· Manage all stages of the NPD process, from ideation and formulation through trials, validation, and launch.

· Oversee enhancement and optimisation of existing products and recipes.

· Act as a technical and development partner to customers, translating briefs into commercially viable solutions.

· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of NPD Executives, fostering technical excellence and innovation.

· Manage a portfolio of NPD projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.

· Ensure new products demonstrate strong culinary understanding and application performance.

· Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders where required.

· Ensure compliance with relevant food legislation, customer standards, and labelling requirements.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in NPD or Innovation roles, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, food sector..
• Strong understanding of product development processes, regulatory frameworks, and quality systems.
• Proven track record of delivering successful product launches and experience managing cross‑functional teams and project portfolios.
• Strategic and creative thinker with a passion for food and innovation with strong commercial awareness and drive for bringing viable ideas to life.
• Strong project management and organisational skills and possess excellent leadership and team‑development capabilities.
