About the Organisation

Our client is a global healthcare organisation operating within Health & Information Management. They are committed to enabling better, smarter, and safer healthcare through the responsible use of data, technology, and clinical insight.

They work at the intersection of healthcare delivery and advanced data systems, building scalable solutions that support clinicians, improve patient outcomes, and ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and reliability.

The Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the production infrastructure that powers AI-driven healthcare information systems.

This is a highly engineering-focused role where success is measured not just by model performance, but by reliability, scalability, security, and real-world clinical usability.

You will act as a bridge between data science and software engineering, owning MLOps pipelines, deployment workflows, and production ML systems in a regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

MLOps & Deployment

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for machine learning workflows (model training, testing, deployment, and versioning)
  • Deploy ML models as scalable APIs and microservices with strong focus on latency and reliability
  • Implement monitoring for model drift, performance degradation, and system health

Data Engineering & Integration

  • Develop ETL pipelines for healthcare data standards including FHIR and HL7
  • Ensure consistency between training datasets and production data via feature stores or data layers
  • Collaborate with backend and platform teams to integrate ML outputs into clinical systems

Engineering & Production Excellence

  • Write clean, maintainable Python code and participate in rigorous code reviews
  • Containerise and orchestrate workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare security and regulatory standards (e.g. HIPAA, HITRUST)

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar
  • Software or data engineering experience
  • Experience in production machine learning or MLOps environments

Technical Skills

  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS / Azure / GCP)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch or Scikit-learn)
  • Experience with data tools such as Pandas, Spark, dbt
  • Exposure to LLM deployment or frameworks such as LangChain
  • Experience in regulated industries (Healthcare, Finance, etc.)
  • Understanding of microservices and API design

This role is based in Ireland, remote working is available but applicants must be a resident of the country.
