Lead Tech Backend (Java/Scala) – F/M/X

Job Description

As a Lead Tech Backend Developer (Java/Scala), you will join a strategic IT transformation program within a Software Factory modernization context in Luxembourg. You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from design to delivery, in a modern and agile environment.

🔥 Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend applications using Java or Scala
• Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions
• Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services
• Work on event-driven architectures using messaging/streaming tools (e.g., Kafka)
• Ensure high code quality through unit and integration testing
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Contribute to system observability (logging, monitoring, metrics)
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Dev, QA, DevOps)
• Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement practices
• Explore and integrate AI tools in development, testing, and documentation
  
  
  

🎯 Your Profile

• 6–10 years of experience in backend development
• Strong expertise in Java or Scala and the JVM ecosystem
• Good experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Play, Akka, or Pekko
• Solid understanding of functional programming (immutability, pure functions, etc.)
• Experience with event-driven architecture and Kafka (or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with MongoDB
• Experience with testing practices (unit & integration testing)
• Familiarity with CI/CD environments and observability tools
• Autonomous, proactive, and quality-oriented mindset
• Strong team spirit and willingness to share knowledge
• Interest in leveraging AI in software development
