Experis IT Luxembourg is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and platform components. The role focuses on Python-based ETL/ELT development, orchestration, cloud infrastructure, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and high-quality data products.



Your responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize scalable Python-based ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Develop and orchestrate data workflows using Dagster, Airflow, or similar tools.
  • Build robust ingestion pipelines for batch, incremental, and streaming use cases.
  • Integrate internal and external APIs with strong authentication, error handling, and data quality controls.
  • Implement and maintain strong data models, including dimensional modelling, Data Vault, and domain-driven structures.
  • Support the application lifecycle and help reduce architecture debt.
  • Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab to deploy, operate, and monitor data pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and infrastructure components.
  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives and automated environments.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and platform teams.
  • Support troubleshooting and incident response across pipelines, integrations, and infrastructure.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to the technical roadmap.



Your profile

  • Expert-level Python skills, including pandas, Polars, typing, packaging, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Strong experience with Dagster, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL patterns, and performance considerations.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, preferably MS SQL.
  • Practical experience with Azure services such as Databricks, ADLS, and ADF.
  • Foundational understanding of Azure networking, AAD, and security concepts, comparable experience with AWS or GCP is also valued.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or backend engineering with a strong data focus.
  • Experience in regulated environments such as finance, insurance, or healthcare is a strong advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven.
  • Comfortable working in agile environments and delivering iteratively.
  • Able to work independently, under pressure, and with tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
