Mergers and Acquisitions Director

Phipps Cameron
United Kingdom · Full-time · Mid-Senior

We are partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed software platform to appoint an M&A Director as part of an ambitious buy-and-build strategy.

Backed by a leading mid-market investor, the business has scaled rapidly through a combination of organic growth and a highly successful acquisition programme, completing multiple transactions to date. Operating in a large and fragmented UK software market, the platform is well positioned for continued consolidation and long-term value creation.

This is a hands-on, in-house role working closely with the C-suite, focused on supporting origination, executing and integrating acquisitions that align with the group’s strategic objectives.

The Role

You will play a key role in delivering the M&A strategy, with a strong emphasis on deal execution and integration:

  • Evaluate acquisition opportunities introduced by senior leadership
  • Lead financial modelling, valuation analysis and investment materials
  • Manage transactions end-to-end, coordinating internal stakeholders and external advisors
  • Support diligence across financial, legal, tax, commercial and operational workstreams
  • Assist with negotiation, structuring and successful deal completion
  • Run multiple live processes concurrently, maintaining pace and discipline
  • Support post-merger integration, including product, technology and commercial alignment, and track delivery against investment cases

Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years’ experience across Transaction Services, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or similar
  • Ideally 3-8 years’ experience in an in-house M&A / Corporate Development environment
  • Strong track record of supporting or leading deals end-to-end
  • Excellent financial modelling, valuation and process management skills
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with senior leadership and investors
  • Experience in software, SaaS, or technology-enabled businesses
