Real Estate Analyst - Graduate
We’re working with a leading European bank with an established UK real estate lending platform, looking to hire a Real Estate Finance Analyst into their London team.
This is a genuinely strong entry point into real estate credit — sitting close to decision-makers, getting exposure to live transactions from day one, and learning how lenders actually assess risk across commercial property deals.
For someone looking to move into lending — whether from a property, finance or advisory background — this is a rare opportunity to build a career on the principal side from the outset.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll support senior originators and credit professionals in analysing and executing commercial real estate lending transactions.
That includes:
- Analysing new lending opportunities — building and reviewing cashflows, understanding structure, and assessing risk
- Supporting credit applications and internal approvals
- Reviewing live loans — monitoring performance, tenant exposure and sector trends
- Working closely with borrowers and advisors (lawyers, valuers, consultants) through the deal process
- Assisting with portfolio analysis across sectors and geographies
- Getting involved in client meetings and broader market research
It’s a broad role, and deliberately so — you’ll get a full view of how a real estate lender operates, rather than being boxed into one part of the process.
What they’re looking for
At its core, this is about motivation and trajectory.
They’re looking for someone who is clearly trying to build a career in real estate finance — not someone who has just fallen into it.
You might come from:
- A real estate degree (e.g. Land Economy, Real Estate, Economics)
- A graduate role or internship in banking or finance
- A surveying / property advisory background
- A debt advisory, investor or developer environment
Key things that matter:
- A genuine interest in real estate and lending
- Strong numerical ability and comfort working in Excel
- The ability to think commercially — not just technically
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn
You don’t need deep experience — but you do need to show intent.
Who this suits
This role tends to appeal to people who:
- Want to move onto the lender side of the market
- Prefer analysing risk and structuring deals over pure advisory work
- Are early in their career and want broad exposure rather than a narrow role
- Value being in a lean team where you’ll be noticed and developed
If you’re currently in a more peripheral role (e.g. valuations, advisory, internships) and want to get closer to the capital — this is a strong move.
Package
- £35,000 base salary for graduates or those with internship / limited experience
- £40,000 base salary for candidates with up to ~12 months of relevant full-time experience (banking, advisory, real estate or similar)
- Discretionary bonus and full benefits package
If you’re early in your career and serious about moving into real estate lending, this is one of the cleaner entry points into the market.
