About The Role

Our OEM client, based in Gaydon, is seeking a talented Senior UI & Animation Designer (Production) to join their dynamic team on a contractual basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on some of the most desirable automotive brands in the world, contributing to cutting-edge vehicle Human-Machine Interface (HMI) projects. The position is inside IR35, with a proposed contract end date of 31st March 2027, and offers an umbrella pay rate of £33.64 per hour. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in translating creative concepts into pixel-perfect UI components, ensuring the visual integrity and usability of complex automotive interfaces. This role requires a passionate designer with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of brand guidelines, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and creative flair, including:

• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
• Experience working with design systems, contributing to their development and evolution.
• Strong understanding of UX principles, user-centered design, and best practices for interactive interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and realize creative concepts into functional UI components.
• Experience in animation and bringing visual elements to life through motion design.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in automotive or high-tech industries is preferred but not essential.
  
  

Responsibilities

The Senior UI & Animation Designer will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:

• Collaborating closely with UX and UI design teams to interpret creative concepts and translate them into detailed, pixel-perfect UI components suitable for automotive HMI systems.
• Designing and animating interface elements that enhance user engagement and provide seamless user experiences.
• Ensuring all designs adhere to brand guidelines, design systems, and complex technical specifications.
• Acting as a UI champion by promoting best practices, consistency, and quality standards across projects.
• Providing visual quality control and ensuring that all UI assets meet the required specifications and standards.
• Contributing to the evolution of design systems and maintaining consistency across multiple projects and platforms.
• Educating and mentoring junior team members, sharing knowledge on design best practices and technical considerations.
• Staying updated with the latest trends and innovations in UI design and motion graphics, applying these insights to ongoing projects.
