Are you a hands-on engineering leader ready to take ownership of a high-performing data team and play a key role in shaping a modern data platform?

This is an important Software Engineering Manager role in a company that is very focused on data, where your work will directly help shape key business and investment decisions. You’ll lead a team building modern data and analytics systems, taking ownership of both day-to-day delivery and the long-term development of the platform.

You’ll lead a talented team of data engineers alongside a dedicated BI function, focusing on developing their skills, raising engineering standards, and enabling them to reach their full potential. With the previous manager recently promoted, you’ll be stepping into a well-supported environment with strong leadership backing, clear progression opportunities, and a high-performing team and platform already in place, your role will be to build on that success and take it even further.

This position offers a strong blend of leadership and technical involvement. You’ll stay close to the engineering work while driving strategy, delivery, and team performance, working with modern technologies such as Python, AWS, and BI tooling, and managing a team of four data engineers.

Key Areas of Ownership

• Lead Python-based data engineering and platform initiatives
• Drive AWS cloud architecture, scalability, and optimisation
• Oversee enterprise BI and reporting (Power BI)
• Shape ETL pipelines, data models, analytics, and data quality frameworks

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience leading data engineering or platform engineering teams
• Strong track record delivering end-to-end data solutions in production environments
• Hands-on experience with Python and AWS
• Ability to influence and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
