Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. The HR Analytics & Reporting team is seeking an HR Analytics & Reporting Specialist to support the design and production of HR metrics and reporting packages for all areas of HR in strategic support of the business. Provides support with people reporting and analytics, as well as research and insights on external industry benchmarks and trends. Will be part of the project team fundamentally transforming the people analytics function at Metrolinx.

The HR Analytics & Reporting team is seeking an HR Analytics & Reporting Specialist to support the design and production of HR metrics and reporting packages for all areas of HR in strategic support of the business. Provides support with people reporting and analytics, as well as research and insights on external industry benchmarks and trends. Will be part of the project team fundamentally transforming the people analytics function at Metrolinx.
What will I be doing?
- Aggregate HR data to produce standard and ad hoc, value-added HR reports for use by HR field teams, various CoEs and executives.
- Provide knowledge and expertise specific to HR data elements within HR systems and databases in order to assist departmental specialists with accurate, efficient and strategic reports.
- Support the roll-out of an HR BI tool: data ingestion and validation, user access role definition, building of content, roll-out, training and change management.
- Create and maintain standard procedural documentation related to reporting solutions and reporting from HR systems for reference, training and support purposes.
- Supports HR reporting center for standard quarterly, annual or other organizational and legislative reports as well as the creation of Dashboard and Analytics in alignment with leadership priorities.
- Support the implementation of HR Data Strategy: work with stakeholders across the organization and systems to put in place HR data governance and consistent definition of metrics.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with strict attention to detail and accuracy.
- Critical-thinking skills to identify trends in data and provide insight into results and outline recommendations.
- Curiosity about data and possible insights contained in it.
- Completion of a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency with reporting and analytical tools to create medium to complex reports (MS Excel, Power BI). Experience with people analytics platforms (Visier or One Model) is a major asset.
- Extensive familiarity with HR KPI best practices and underlying data.
- Demonstrated experience with Business Intelligence tools and HCM applications (Oracle HCM).
- Strong knowledge of relational database principals and working knowledge of SQL query design is an asset.
- Client centric mindset.
- Knowledge of and experience with change management and project management foundational principles and practices.
- Oral/written/presentation and influencing skills to deliver oral presentations and written reports.
