We are seeking a motivated Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in day-to-day cybersecurity operations, perform technical reviews, and support the development and maintenance of our Information Security Management System (ISMS). You will work closely with the CISO and broader IT teams, taking a hands-on role in strengthening and safeguarding SME Bank’s systems, data, and customers.

 

What you will do:

Security Operations (Day-to-Day / Weekly)

·      Monitor, review, and analyze SOC alerts, ensuring timely triage and escalation where necessary

·      Investigate and respond to security-related inquiries

·      Review, validate, and follow up on DLP alerts and potential data exposure incidents

·      Support incident detection, response, and post-incident analysis activities

·      Assist in maintaining and improving security monitoring use cases and alert quality


Vulnerability & Threat Management

·      Perform vulnerability scanning, validate findings, and track remediation activities

·      Document and manage vulnerabilities and penetration test results in JIRA

·      Work with IT teams to prioritize and remediate identified risks

·      Stay informed on emerging threats and vulnerabilities relevant to the organization


Security Engineering & Assurance

·      Support and maintain security controls within the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

·      Perform technical security reviews of internal systems and third-party vendors

·      Assist in implementing and improving security tools, controls, and processes

·      Contribute to secure configuration and hardening of systems and cloud environments


Access & Identity Security

·      Support periodic access reviews and ensure proper access control practices

·      Assist in identity and access management (IAM) processes and improvements


Security Awareness & Testing

·      Support phishing simulations and ongoing awareness campaigns

·      Help track, report, and improve user awareness and resilience to social engineering


Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

·      Work closely with the CISO and IT teams to strengthen the overall security posture

·      Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, and efficiency

·      Contribute to security-related projects and initiatives as assigned

 

What You Need to Succeed

·      A degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience

·      2–4 years of practical experience in information security, IT security operations, or a similar role

·      Solid understanding of core security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, EDR, DLP, and vulnerability management solutions

·      Working knowledge of security frameworks and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST)

·      Ability to effectively triage, investigate, and resolve security alerts using a structured, analytical approach

·      Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive mindset

·      Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

·      Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities and responsibilities

·      Proficiency in English and Lithuanian is a must.

Salary

2800 – 4000 €/month gross, depending on experience and qualifications.
