The Technology Platforms Division (TPD) is responsible for building and operating the infrastructure and ecosystem platforms which power the Rakuten Group, Inc. Our mission is to provide our Rakuten Cloud and Ecosystem Platforms which will deliver Core Value to accelerate the growth of Rakuten Group, Inc. services.
Department Overview
The Cloud Management Department is in charge of leading Rakuten Group, Inc. towards unified cloud infrastructure. It works with various other departments in Rakuten Group, Inc. so to provide strategy and governance to operate our cloud services with high customer satisfaction.
We are looking for a Project Manager to be responsible for planning and overseeing projects for IT Infrastructure Department. You will be tasked with planning, leading, overseeing all aspects of the project, also taking on a Product Manager role to support the product planning. The environment includes Cloud computing, Datacenter planning, Bare metal, virtualization, Databases, Storage, Network at an enterprise level. Ideally looking for a multi-skilled, highly capable, experienced in a fast-moving demanding environment.

Responsibilities
Job Summary
- Creation of project proposal, charter with agreement of project owner and project sponsor.
- Creation of project plan, schedule, status execution and monitoring progress. - - Work with project owner to create timelines, milestones, and tasks.
- Submission of meeting minutes and weekly/monthly reports to stakeholders.
- Manage project issues and risk, finding mitigation solutions. Escalate to projects owner.
- Managing changes to project and reporting to project owner.
- Sync project updates with project members and vendor.
- Ensuring project milestones deadlines are met.
- Optimizing and improving processes where necessary.
- Perform project closeout; lessons learnt report.
- Monitor and follow product strategy and roadmap created by Product owner.
- Develop good communication between stakeholders.
- Defines objectives, KPIs and successes of the product and help everyone involved in the project stay focused Understand infrastructure layers.
- Able to lead engineers, provide product management support and to guide service owners in order to improve service to users and service efficiency.
- Able to handle new engineers and technological topics with a “always learning attitude”.
- 5+ years proven experience in Project Management, especially for projects related to infrastructure, network and cloud computing.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, written and verbal, to all levels of an organization.
- Passionate about developing relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience in Atlassian Confluence and JIRA.
- PMP preferred (not mandatory).
- Mandatory: Business++ English.
- Possessing at least one relevant certification, suc PMP/Prince/Agile or ITILyu7 etc.
- Very appreciated: Japanese speaking business level.
