Job Description

The RAN Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining the radio access network of a mobile telecommunications system.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Overall technical support and troubleshooting for LTE eNB /NR gNB (BBU and RRH) in deployment/care phase
  • Design, setup, preparation and configuration support for NOKIA lab and Customer lab
  • HW installation and integration support including trouble shooting for BBU and RRH at NOKIA lab and Customer Lab as well as field.
  • HW installation and integration support including trouble shooting for BBU and RRH
  • HW Acceptance testing at NOKIA lab for BBU and RRH including specification check
  • Procedure creation and verification (HW installation procedure, FRU procedure, Integration procedure, migration procedure, SW upgrade procedure for BBU and RRH)
  • Verification/reproduction testing at NOKIA test lab for newly introduced HW and SW
  • Answer to technical query from customer
  • Escalation and communication with R&D department
  • IOT, ATP, and FOA on-site support at customer’s premises and field

Key Skills And Experience

  • 3 years+ work experience with Japanese telecom operator on the jobs/tasks mentioned above
  • 3 years+ experience on lab construction (design, setup, preparation and configuration) including trouble shooting for LTE/NR product (eNB/gNB)
  • 3 years+ experience on HW installation, integration and verification including trouble shooting for LTE/NR product (eNB/gNB)
  • 3 years+ experience on procedure creation (HW installation procedure, FRU procedure, Integration procedure, migration procedure and SW upgrade procedure for BBU and RRH)
  • Basic knowledge and understanding on 3GPP standard
  • Communication skills to correctly understand both internal and external requirements and provide solution/answers in an optimized way
  • Business level English competence (TOEIC 750 or over, and experience in projects with non-Japanese stakeholders requiring frequent English communication)
  • Positive, flexible and perseverant characteristics to overcome any challenging situation
  • High level Japanese communicating skill(reading, writing, listening, speaking) to meet Japanese customer requirements
