Project Manager – Major Residential Development

Location: Westport, County Mayo

Salary: €90K+ package

An award-winning, well-established main contractor headquartered in Galway City is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a major residential project in Westport, County Mayo, and the wider West of Ireland. This is a permanent, senior-level role with significant responsibility and the opportunity to influence project delivery, budgets, and client satisfaction.

What’s Involved

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management
• Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and maintain cost controls while mitigating risks
• Lead and supervise project teams, including contractors, subcontractors, labourers, and suppliers, fostering effective communication and a positive work environment
• Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved and delays minimized
• Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring all obligations are met and work is completed to specification
• Implement and maintain quality assurance and control standards to meet or exceed industry benchmarks
• Oversee health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel
• Provide regular project updates and ensure client expectations are met
• Address project-related challenges, from design changes to site conditions, finding effective solutions to maintain progress
• Manage project closeout procedures, including inspections, client walkthroughs, and final documentation

Key Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Project Manager role delivering residential and/or commercial projects
• Proven track record managing complex projects on time and within budget
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and project management software (e.g., Procore, Asta)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
• Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, procurement, and risk management
• Familiarity with Irish building regulations, health & safety legislation, and ISO standards
• Ability to lead teams, manage risk, and deliver results in a fast-paced construction environment
