Data Analyst – Emergency Services
- Experience required: Minimum 3 years

About the Role
You will join a small, collaborative team specialising in data analysis and visualisation, supporting emergency response services. The team delivers insights through dashboards, reports, and geospatial data to improve decision-making across multiple departments, including fire services, ambulance operations, crisis management, and internal business functions.
While several tools and solutions are already in place, there is strong demand for further development and innovation in data products.
Key Responsibilities
- Dashboard development and optimisation
- Design, update, and enhance interactive dashboards using Power BI to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Data transformation and processing
- Prepare and structure datasets using modern data transformation tools (such as DBT) to ensure reliability and usability.
- Translating business needs into solutions
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and convert these into practical analytical solutions. Present findings clearly using visuals and plain language.
- Compliance and data governance
- Apply relevant data protection and governance regulations, ensuring all data usage aligns with legal and organisational standards.
- Collaboration and communication
- Coordinate with project managers, IT teams, data protection specialists, and security officers. Actively contribute ideas, share progress, and highlight challenges within the team.
Skills and Experience
- A completed higher education degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s), ideally in data science, computer science, business analytics, or a related field
- At least three years of hands-on experience creating and maintaining dashboards and reports
- Practical experience with Microsoft’s data tools, including Power BI and related Power Platform components
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical insights to non-technical audiences
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments
Desirable (not essential):
- Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Azure Data Factory, SQL, DBT, GIS tools, or data integration platforms
- Experience working with Agile or DevOps methodologies
