Build AI at NBIM, the world’s largest investment fund
Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) manages over 20,000 billion kroner on behalf of the Norwegian people. AI is transforming how we work — and we want you to help build the tools that make it happen.
We are looking for an AI Developer to join our Communications and External Relations department on a part-time basis. You will build AI-powered tools to automate workflows and improve team efficiency. You will collaborate closely with our Technology department, while working within the communication department. You will have access to state-of-the-art AI tools and apply technology to strengthen our communication work.
You will ship real products to real users inside one of the world’s most sophisticated investment firms.
Duties and responsibilities
What you will do
- Build AI-powered tools and applications that solve real problems for communications professionals
- Integrate large language models into existing workflows to automate repetitive tasks and surface insights faster
- Prototype and ship internal tools — from proof-of-concept to production
- Maintain and further develop an existing internal fullstack application (Angular frontend, Python/FastAPI backend, cloud infrastructure)
- Help raise AI and technical fluency across the Communications team, acting as a bridge between Technology and Communications
Who you are
You are pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree and have hands-on technical experience beyond coursework — personal projects, open-source contributions, hackathons, freelance work or a previous tech internship. You have experience with Python and ideally some familiarity with TypeScript or Angular and SQL. You are curious about new technologies, including cloud infrastructure. You are structured, self-driven, and energised by building things that people use. You are fluent in English.
Practical details
The position is 40–50%, meaning two to three days a week at our offices in Oslo. Working hours are flexible. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of extension. You will report to the Head of External Relations and Projects.
Few students get to build AI tools that are used inside one of the world's most important financial institutions — this is one of those roles.
