Head of Business Intelligence

Confidential Jobs
United Arab Emirates · Full-time · Director

The Head of Business Intelligence will own and lead the end-to-end BI strategy, architecture and insight delivery across the business. This role is responsible for transforming complex data into clear, actionable intelligence that enables leadership teams to make faster, smarter and more profitable decisions.

You will build and lead a high-performing BI function, establish best-in-class reporting standards, and partner closely with Commercial, Trading, Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and senior leadership to drive measurable business impact.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, commercial acumen and the ability to translate data into decision-ready insight.

Key Responsibilities

BI Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and own the group-wide BI roadmap across DTC and marketplace channels.
  • Translate trading, pricing, merchandising, supply chain and finance requirements into scalable data models and reporting layers.
  • Design and maintain a single source of truth across brands, regions and channels, despite fragmented upstream systems.
  • Set clear ownership of raw data, transformed layers, business logic and reporting views.

Data Integration & Pipelines

  • Lead the structuring and transformation of core data tables including orders, traffic, pricing, promotions, logistics, inventory and returns.
  • Build and maintain robust pipelines to support daily, weekly and near real-time trading decisions.
  • Partner closely with technology and data teams to improve data reliability, timeliness and accessibility, and to define new data fields or views where required.

Reporting, Dashboards & Analytics

  • Design decision-first dashboards that drive action, not just visibility.
  • Create standardised reporting frameworks while accommodating brand-level nuances.
  • Enable self-serve analytics for trading, finance and senior leadership teams.

Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Act as a strategic BI partner to Trading and Commercial teams, proactively surfacing insights, risks and opportunities.
  • Help evolve the organisation from reactive reporting to proactive and predictive insight.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Define clear data definitions, metric logic and documentation to eliminate multiple versions of the truth.
  • Implement data quality checks, alerts and reconciliation processes to ensure trust in reporting.

What You’ll Bring

  • 12+ years’ experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics or Data, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong background in e-commerce, fashion retail or consumer-facing brands.
  • Expert-level SQL (BigQuery preferred) and deep understanding of modern data warehousing and modelling concepts.
  • Advanced experience with BI tools such as Tableau or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Python or similar for data analysis, automation or advanced analytics.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience building and scaling BI teams in fast-growth, high-change environments.
