About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PHP Engineer / Senior Web Developer to join our expanding team. This role is integral to our ongoing efforts to develop and maintain innovative digital solutions within the music industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in PHP development, with particular expertise in Laravel, and demonstrate a willingness to work with legacy codebases that may contain complex, intertwined code structures. The position requires onsite presence in San Francisco, working five days a week, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects that impact the music community on a broad scale. As a senior member of the development team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions that meet business objectives and enhance user experience.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience in PHP development, with a strong portfolio of past projects.
• Extensive experience working with Laravel framework is strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of full-stack development principles and practices.
• Experience working with legacy or "spaghetti" codebases, demonstrating problem-solving skills and adaptability.
• Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco five days a week.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is a plus.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable PHP applications, with a focus on Laravel framework.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver innovative features and improvements.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Work with legacy code, refactoring and optimizing as necessary to improve performance and maintainability.
• Contribute to the development of technical documentation and user guides.
• Identify and troubleshoot bugs, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate best practices into development processes.
• Assist in mentoring junior team members and sharing knowledge across the development team.
