Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Front End Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a global developer of technology platforms that develop temperature control products.

You'll help build and scale user-facing applications in the consumer and healthcare space. You'll primarily focus on designing and building polished, performant frontend experiences using Angular, with AWS Amplify powering hosting, authentication, and API integration. While your focus is on the frontend, you should be comfortable working with backend APIs and understanding how data flows through the system. You will contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from product concepting through deployment and maintenance. You'll work alongside a cross-disciplined engineering team with a strong focus on usability, accessibility, and technical sustainability. You will also play a critical role in ensuring the UI layer adheres to robust security practices to protect user access and highly sensitive healthcare-related information.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on frontend development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of Angular (v14+) and TypeScript, with an understanding of RxJS, reactive patterns, and Angular's change detection strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Amplify for hosting, authentication, and connecting frontend applications to cloud services.
  • Experience in consuming and integrating GraphQL APIs (AWS AppSync preferred) and RESTful APIs. Understanding of query optimization, subscriptions, caching, and error handling for both.
  • Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and modern layout techniques (Flexbox, Grid). Experience with CSS architecture patterns, such as BEM or utility-first approaches.
  • Knowledge of Angular Material, NgRx, or similar state management libraries, and building or maintaining component libraries or design systems.
  • Expertise in responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and progressive web app (PWA) concepts.
  • In-depth understanding of web security fundamentals, including XSS prevention, CSRF protection, Content Security Policy, and secure token storage. Experience implementing OAuth 2.0 and JWT-based auth flows on the client side.
  • Understanding of building comprehensive frontend test suites using Jasmine, Karma, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and assistive technology testing.
  • Experience with frontend performance profiling, Core Web Vitals optimization, and bundle analysis.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for frontend deployments (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, Amplify CI/CD, or similar).
  • Be comfortable reading and understanding backend code (Python preferred) to debug integration issues and collaborate effectively with backend engineers.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance as it applies to frontend applications, including secure handling of PHI in the browser and session management.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in Agile environments.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with data visualization libraries (D3.js, Chart.js, or similar) and building interactive dashboards.
  • Familiarity with internationalization (i18n) and localization patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive, accessible, and performant frontend applications using Angular and TypeScript.
  • Build and manage frontend infrastructure using AWS Amplify and API integration.
  • Integrate with backend services through both GraphQL (AppSync) and RESTful APIs, ensuring efficient data fetching, error handling, and state management.
  • Implement clean, reusable component architectures with a focus on consistency, maintainability, and adherence to the design system.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and backend engineers to translate requirements and wireframes into polished, production-ready interfaces.
  • Own frontend performance optimization, including lazy loading, bundle size management, rendering efficiency, and caching strategies.
  • Implement secure client-side authentication and authorization using AWS Cognito, OAuth 2.0, and JWT, ensuring sensitive healthcare data is handled properly at every layer.
  • Build and maintain comprehensive test suites, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, using tools like Jasmine, Karma, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Champion accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA or higher) across the application, ensuring inclusive experiences for all users.
  • Establish and maintain frontend monitoring, error tracking, and real-user metrics using tools such as Sentry or similar tools.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and quality.
  • Stay current with Angular ecosystem updates, frontend tooling, and industry trends to improve the technology stack continuously.
  • Document component libraries, frontend architecture decisions, and development patterns for knowledge sharing.
