Role:
Reporting to the Head of IT, the IT Network and Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the company’s network infrastructure and security measures. The role requires strong technical expertise in network architecture, cybersecurity, and day-to-day support of network and security operations. The engineer will also be the backup of our IT Support and involved in the continuous monitoring and improvement of network performance and security, ensuring the integrity and availability of the company’s IT systems across all global office locations.
Job Description:
- Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, and wireless solutions, across multiple office locations.
- Manage and optimize the performance of network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls, with a focus on Cisco and Palo Alto systems.
- Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and ensure adherence to cybersecurity best practices.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify potential security vulnerabilities or performance bottlenecks, responding promptly to incidents.
- Support and manage VPN connections between remote offices and the data center, ensuring secure and reliable communications.
- Work with IPsec, Ubiquiti equipment, SD-WAN technologies, and Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) to enhance network security, scalability, and performance across the organization.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to manage network projects and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain documentation of network architecture, configurations, and security protocols for internal reference and audits.
- Work with the IT team to implement network upgrades, migrations, and scalability projects as needed.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, disaster recovery plans, and IT risk management strategies.
- Provide third-level technical support to internal users and assist with network and security-related troubleshooting as required.
Qualifications:
- Master/Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in network and security engineering, preferably in a financial or bank environment.
- Strong expertise in configuring and managing Cisco networking equipment, Palo Alto firewalls, VPN technologies (including IPsec), Ubiquiti devices, SD-WAN solutions, and Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP).
- Experience with network security protocols and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption methods.
- Perfect understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching protocols.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and network security systems.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSA, PCNSE, URSCA, or UNP are a strong plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to security incidents effectively.
- Fluent in English, with French or German as an asset.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with the IT Department.
- Swiss work permit or Swiss nationality is required.
