We are supporting the consortium behind one of Norway’s largest and most complex infrastructure programmes, and they are now seeking to appoint an experienced Freelance Project Planner to strengthen planning, scheduling, and progress control during a critical phase of delivery.
This is a high‑impact role where you will ensure schedule integrity, coordinate planning inputs across multidisciplinary teams, and support the successful execution of a landmark transport project.
Location: Bergen (Sotra / Øygarden)
Rate: Negotiable
Requirement: EU passport
Contract: 12 months (strong possibility of extension up to 5–6 years) or Permanent employment option
Role Overview
Reporting functionally to the Planning Manager and operationally to the Project Controls Lead, the Project Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising the integrated project schedule across civil works, tunnelling, bridge construction, utilities, and traffic management phases.
You will act as a key coordination point between engineering, construction, subcontractors, and the client organisation, ensuring accurate progress reporting and alignment with contractual milestones under the PPP framework.
Fluency in English is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update the integrated project schedule using Primavera P6 (or equivalent).
- Coordinate planning inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractor teams.
- Monitor progress, analyse deviations, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support monthly reporting cycles, including schedule narratives, KPIs, and earned‑value insights.
- Ensure alignment between construction sequencing, resource planning, and traffic‑management constraints.
- Track critical paths, float, and schedule risks, escalating issues where required.
- Support interface management across disciplines (bridges, tunnels, roads, utilities, marine works).
- Contribute to planning governance, compliance, and continuous improvement of project‑control processes.
- Maintain audit‑ready planning records in line with PPP and client requirements.
Experience & Skill Requirements
- Strong experience in planning for large‑scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Background in bridges, tunnels, highways, or major transport programmes is highly valued.
- Experience working within PPP or EPC project structures is a significant advantage.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑disciplinary schedules in fast‑moving environments.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, plus competence in reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
- Ability to work collaboratively with both contractors and client‑side teams.
