Employment Type: Contract

Pay Rate: CAD$55 - $60/HR INC

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned AWS Lead with strong banking/financial services experience to manage and support business-critical cloud applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on AWS expertise, excellent communication skills, and proven experience working in a global onshore-offshore delivery model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage AWS-based production environments supporting banking applications.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business application owners and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with onshore/offshore teams to ensure 24x7 support coverage.
  • Drive incident, problem, and change management processes in alignment with ITSM frameworks.
  • Handle L2/L3 production support, ensuring timely resolution of tickets and service requests.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors for issue resolution and service delivery.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability of AWS-hosted applications.
  • Ensure adherence to SLA, KPI, and compliance requirements (especially in banking domain).
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
  • Support BAU activities including deployments, patching, and environment maintenance.

Required Skills & Experience

AWS & Cloud Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as:
  • EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda
  • VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail
  • Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing AWS environments.

Production Support & ITSM

  • Solid experience in production support (L2/L3)
  • Hands-on experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Incident Management
  • Problem Management
  • Change Management

Banking / Financial Domain

  • Prior experience working in banking or financial services environments.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements is a plus.

Delivery & Stakeholder Management

  • Experience working in onshore-offshore delivery models.
  • Ability to lead offshore teams and manage deliverables.
  • Strong coordination with:
  • Business stakeholders
  • Application owners
  • Third-party vendors

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment.
  • Ownership mindset with strong accountability and leadership qualities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certification (Associate or Professional).
  • Exposure to DevOps tools / CI-CD pipelines.
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Shell).
