Job Title: Android Developer

Location: Gothenburg, Sweden - Onsite

Duration: 6 Months - Extendable

Employment Type: Contract B2B

Roles & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled Android Developer with AOSP and Embedded Android experience to design, develop, and optimize system-level and application-layer components for embedded platforms (e.g., automotive, IoT devices).

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including system architects, hardware engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and reliable Android-based solutions.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications and system components using Java and Kotlin
• Work on Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and customize Android frameworks
• Develop and optimize solutions for embedded Linux environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software components
• Use build systems such as Gradle and Soong for efficient project builds
• Manage code repositories and workflows using Git and Gerrit
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation using Jenkins
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across system and application layers

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar
• Strong Java/Kotlin development experience
• Experience with embedded Linux environments
• Hands‑on experience with Git, Gerrit, Jenkins
• Solid understanding of Android Framework & build tools
• Experience with Gradle and Soong
• Ability to write unit and integration tests

Nice to Have:

• Swedish B-level driving license preferred (for on-site testing, if applicable)

Specialization Areas

Bluetooth Development

• Experience in Bluetooth stack development
• Knowledge of AIDL (Android Interface Definition Language)
• Experience with Android HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer)
• Proficiency in C/C++

HMI (Human-Machine Interface) Development

• Experience in HMI development (automotive or embedded UI systems)
• Strong experience with AOSP customization and UI frameworks
• Focus on usability, performance, and system integration
