About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP Developer (m/w/d) to join our InsurTech team at CHECK24. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing our insurance comparison products by integrating cutting-edge AI technologies and modern web frameworks. Your expertise will contribute to building smarter, more efficient systems that improve user experience and operational performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable architectures, ensuring high-quality standards through code reviews and automated testing. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in computer science, natural sciences, or a comparable technical field. You should have at least four years of professional experience in software development, preferably within agile teams, with a solid background in relational databases such as MySQL. Proficiency in frameworks like Symfony, React.js, and React-Router is essential. A deep understanding of software architecture principles, clean code practices, and modern development workflows is required. Excellent communication skills in English (C1 level) and German (B2 level) are necessary to thrive in our collaborative environment. Additionally, team spirit, enthusiasm for working onsite in Frankfurt, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation are highly valued.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing new features within our insurance products, utilizing the latest web technologies and AI tools to enhance functionality and user engagement. Your role includes the ongoing evolution and maintenance of our complex system architecture, which encompasses frontend, backend, databases, MCP-servers, and caches. You will optimize and scale our systems within a service-oriented architecture to ensure robustness and efficiency. Ensuring high quality standards through active participation in daily code reviews and automated testing processes will be a key aspect of your work. Additionally, you will collaborate with product teams to identify opportunities for innovation, implement best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our platform.
