Country Manager — Finland or Latvia or Lithuania
We are a venture-backed defense technology company building a platform for the environments where decisions get made under pressure, with incomplete information, and where the gap between sensing and understanding directly shapes outcomes. The system integrates multi-sensor detection, real-time data fusion, and decision support — applied in border security and defense environments. We expect to close our current funding round this quarter and are standing up in-country presence in the Baltic and Nordic markets that matter most to the mission.
This is not a traditional commercial role. We are looking for operators who have lived inside the defense and border security ecosystem — people who know the decision-makers personally, understand how real procurement works, and carry credibility earned through service and prior success selling into the space.
The Role
In the near term, you will open doors. You’ll introduce the platform to the right end users, gather the operational feedback that shapes how the product evolves, and build the trust that matters more than any pitch deck. As the relationships deepen and the product matures, the role evolves into driving actual contracting outcomes — pilots, framework agreements, and long-term program positioning inside your country.
Concretely, you will:
• Develop relationships with ministries of defense, border guards, intelligence services, and other operational stakeholders
• Represent the company in technical and institutional dialogue
• Identify where current systems fall short and where the platform creates measurable advantage
• Navigate local procurement frameworks and position the company ahead of formal processes
• Translate what you hear in the field into structured insight that informs product and go-to-market decisions
• Transition into leading in-country commercial engagement and contracting as the business scales
Who We're Looking For
• Military, border security, or intelligence background — credibility within the national defense ecosystem is essential
• Prior experience selling defense technology, or working in defense contracting, acquisitions, or capability development
• Established, warm relationships with relevant institutional buyers in Finland, Lithuania, or Latvia
• Comfort operating independently in an early-stage, ambiguous environment
• Business-level English required; local language strongly preferred
• In-country location required
Why This Matters
Regional security in the Baltic and Nordic theater has never been more consequential, and the distance between what fielded systems deliver and what operators actually need is widening. The founding team are operators, founders, and investors who have built, exited, and backed defense technology companies — they have sat on the customer side, the vendor side, and the capital side of this problem. The advisory team includes a former European head of state and retired senior NATO flag and general officers with direct experience commanding forces in the region. This is a chance to help build something real with people who understand the mission because they have lived it.
Engagement and Compensation
This is a fractional engagement to start — roughly 15 to 20 hours per month — structured as a modest monthly retainer plus success-based bonuses tied to clearly defined commercial milestones. The expectation is a transition to a full-time role with equity as the business scales in-region. It is designed for someone who wants meaningful upside aligned with real outcomes, not a traditional salaried BD seat.
